Hadas-Rebecca Youman Art

Born 11. of May 1960 in Austria

As an Artist I work in different media from big bold colorful Acrylic paintings on Canvas to celebrate the joy and exuberance of life to my most recent work I would love to show. A minimal series created during the pandemic, pen and ink on paper with minimal color. A very big contrast to my previous work.As the pandemic hit, and some of my friends died unexpectedly, and my worries about my aging parents grew, I wanted to create a more delicate Art. Reflecting on the very essence of life. So I used the line. A Line on paper drawn with ink is unforgiving. No mistakes can be made. No corrections can be made. It takes not only precision but it is also a reflection of year long practice to put it seemingly effortless on paper. The results of my minimal work speaks for itself. Delicate lines, elegant, music I heard, interpersonal experience, cities, landscapes and other Artists continuously influenced and still influence my work. My Art is always a mirror of that, wether I explored the Bronx in NYC or Jerusalem in Israel, Santorini, the Music of Leonard Cohen.....I had to create Art. My styles and media changed depending on my living space, money I had, tools that were at hand. A lot of times my Art is confined to a much smaller space on canvas, exploding out of the given frame. I hope that one day I will have the space and money to create on a scale | desire. It would make an enormous difference as well. Lately I created a number of small pen and ink pieces. Infinite possibilities reduced to lines and minimal color. The bare essentials it seems on the other hand a vast possibility of the spectator to go on a journey. A much more delicate journey than my bold paintings. My intention is the same to bring joy and to celebrate.
